In safe mode I started the launcher and off it went downloading no problem.. After 2 mins I restarted in normal mode and the download continued even with all parts of BitDefender turned on..

I have done exactly as you said On restarting normally it went back to previous errors. Restarting my PC at regular intervals. Weird thing now is WT starts up at system start up Not sure if a fresh install will be helpful considering the efforts of BobDNailer in even clearing his registry. A solution would be most welcome since I love WT and would hate to abandon the game.
